Some clients become familiar faces. Others become part of your story as a photographer. Lara and Stephen are absolutely the second. Documenting families through every season is one of the most meaningful parts of my work as a photographer.

I first met them during their engagement session at The Summit in Dahlonega, Georgia. The views were beautiful, but what stood out most was how easy they were together. Lots of laughter, natural connection, and that calm excitement that comes with being on the edge of a new chapter. It was one of those sessions that reminds you why you love what you do.
Not long after, I had the honor of photographing their maternity session at The Farmhouse at Prospect Farms in Lawrenceville, Georgia. There is something really special about watching a couple grow into parents. That session felt quieter and more intentional, full of anticipation and tenderness. It was a shift from celebration to preparation, and it was beautiful to witness.

Their newborn session took place in their home, which is always one of my favorite ways to document this season. There is nothing more meaningful than photographing families in the space where life actually happens. Soft light, sleepy moments, and the kind of love that feels brand new and overwhelming all at once.
Most recently, I photographed their milestone session at Avalon Farms in Gainesville, Georgia. Seeing their little one’s personality coming through and watching Lara and Stephen fully settled into parenthood was such a full circle moment. These are the sessions that don’t just feel like photos, they feel like memories being preserved in real time.
One of the most meaningful moments for me as a photographer happened when I walked into their home and saw the photos I have taken of them displayed throughout their space. Engagement photos. Maternity images. Newborn moments. Their story, framed and lived with every day. That is something I never take lightly.

Lara and Stephen have trusted me through so many seasons of their lives, and that trust is everything. Working with them has been an absolute joy, not just because they are wonderful clients, but because they remind me that photography is about so much more than a single session. It is about building relationships, documenting growth, and telling stories that continue long after the camera is put away.
Watching families return year after year is one of the greatest gifts of this job, and Lara and Stephen’s journey is one I am so grateful to have been part of.
